UNIVERSITY HONOURS PROJECT
My honours year dissertation: "Gamifying Bad-Faith Players" is an exploration on how game mechanics can be used to empower players in online game settings to react to griefing behaviours from intentionally malicious players, allowing negatively affected players to take action and give them the tools to reduce the harm done to their gameplay experience. The project included research, case studies, prototype development, and user testing. While studying the Game Design & Production course at Abertay University, I also worked as a QA engineer in the game development industry - after years of studying and working, I attained a 1st-class honours degree in July 2019. I developed the project between September 2018 and May 2019, and created a game prototype in Unreal to test theories I devised during my resource. You can read both the dissertation and the project portfolio below!
